D&T STUDENTS OFF TO WISCOMBE HILL CLIMB
The Design and Technology department has been given 15 complimentary tickets - which are now on offer to students - to the Wiscombe Hill Climb at Wiscombe Park on Sunday 13 May 2018, courtesy of the Association of South Western Motor Clubs (ASWMC).
The lucky students will also be given exclusive ‘behind-the-scenes’ access on the day, including opportunities to meet the drivers and mechanics competing in the race, representatives from the ASWMC and the ex-president of the Vintage Sports Car Club.
The ASWMC are looking to encourage young people to develop a passion for motor racing and are keen to train new volunteers to get involved in the club as future marshals, or even judges!
The 60th anniversary event for the Wiscombe Hill Climb will involve two, three and four wheeled vehicles, both modern and historic, competing in the Southwest’s premier speed hill climb.
The ASWMC are a key sponsor of the school’s ‘Formula One in Schools’ teams, including Hawk Racing, a team of year 13 students who will be competing in the World Finals in Singapore this September.

Stop press: Here are Fraser and Jason - both in year 12 - inspecting a rare Bugatti Type 35 racing car on our trip to Wiscombe Hill Climb on Sunday. Both boys study A Level Product Design and are destined for a career in Engineering.
