GCSE Results Day
GCSE Results Day & Sixth Form Enrolment for COLYTON GRAMMAR SCHOOL STUDENTS ONLY – Thursday 20 August 2020 8.30 -11.30am
It is strange to think that under normal circumstances our Year 11 students would have only recently finished their GCSE exams and have embarked on a summer of relaxation and adventure.
We do hope that they have made the most of the last term by doing the preparatory A-Level reading and activities that we have set in Teams and through our Preparation for A Levels publication.
On GCSE results day, school will be open from 8.30am. Students arriving by car should park in the Sports Hall car park. If the weather is fine, students will be able to collect their results from collection points, set out in the open area around the front entrance of the Cottrill Hall. There will be a one-way system in place to maintain current social distancing guidelines. In the event of rain, results will be collected from the following classrooms:
11A – Room 6 11B – Recital Room 11C – S1 11O – CS2
Students will be asked to sign for their results and will also be asked if they still wish to enrol for the Sixth Form. If they intend to enrol but wish to discuss an option change, Mr Gregson and Mr Smith will be available in Cottrill Hall. Similarly, to discuss other Post-16 alternatives, Careers South West will be on hand in CS1, and members of the School’s pastoral team in the Library.
We include a link to our Welcome to the Sixth Form brochure here, which gives details of our sixth form uniform.
All Year 11 students are asked to return their GCSE textbooks on results day. The books can be left with the member of staff who issues your results. Please ensure that all books have your name clearly marked inside the front cover to avoid any possible confusion.
We appreciate that students may wish to have a member of their family accompany them in collecting their results, and we would like to be accommodate this, although we would ask just one family member to come along in these circumstances, to ensure that we are able to maintain an adequate level of social distancing.
Should students not wish to come into school to collect their results, they should contact Miss Lockwood at email@example.com. We will email results for these students to their Colyton Grammar School email address on the morning of 20 August. Should they wish to enrol in the Sixth Form, having received their results, they should email firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 3.45pm on the day."
