On Sunday 17th March, our Under 18s Boys Rugby 7s squad travelled up to London in preparation to compete in the world’s largest school rugby tournament, Rosslyn Park national 7s. They were in a pool of four teams, playing three games against Bishop Stortford College, Harrogate Grammar School and Framlingham College. The standard of this competition was extremely high and unfortunately, we didn’t come away with a win.

However, the team did incredibly well to keep the scores relatively close, and at times were even ahead. The effort that everyone put into the competition was outstanding, and a big thank you to Mr Gosling for organising the trip; we are already looking forward to next year’s competition.

On Wednesday, our Under 16 Boys Rugby 7s team also travelled to Rosslyn Park, London. They played three games in their pool, losing two and drawing one very close and competitive game against the eventual winners of the group, Caterham School. It was a brilliant experience with the likes of Martin Johnson and Jason Robinson (2003 England Rugby World Cup Winner) on the side-line for our first game and Sam Warburton (Ex-Welsh international) in attendance. Hopefully the boys have taken confidence in this experience and use it as a building block for next year’s competition.
