This year’s fete was greatly anticipated by students, their families and staff alike, given we haven’t been able to stage the event since 2019. To give students the greatest opportunity for creativity, this year’s fete had two themes: Myths & Legends and Spies & Coding. In the end, both proved popular with imaginative stall ideas and costumes in evidence. As always, students enjoyed the opportunity of drenching some of their favourite teachers, including Mr Brown, Mrs Swarbrick, Mrs Bennett, Mrs Williams, Mr Gosling and Mr Streat - a big thank you to colleagues for being such good sports. Meanwhile, Take Five and the ice cream van did a roaring trade, as did the Sixth Form Entertainment and PA book stall. However, most important of all, all students were able to just have fun with friends and family in the late afternoon sunshine and so a big thank you to everyone who came and supported the event. Our finance colleagues have not yet had the chance to work out how much money was raised on the night but, whatever the final total, it will be a welcome boost in terms of financing our planned outdoor seated areas for next year.
