U14 Ultimate Frisbee Outdoor Nationals
Both of our U14 Ultimate Frisbee teams delivered outstanding performances at the Outdoor Nationals, showing skill, determination, and exceptional Spirit of the Game throughout the event.
U14 1st Team:
Entering the tournament seeded 23rd, this being their first competition, the 1st team exceeded all expectations. They won all of their pool games, a fantastic achievement that saw them rise to 15th seed going into the knockout phase. They continued their impressive form by winning their crossover game, earning a place in the round robin for 9th position. Carrying confidence and momentum, they secured victory in their final match against Twycross School to finish an incredible 9th overall.
This result represents the best possible outcome based on their initial seeding, making it a remarkable accomplishment. The team played exceptionally well throughout, demonstrating excellent teamwork, communication, and composure. Equally impressive was their commitment to Spirit of the Game, showing maturity and fairness through strong self-officiating skills.
U14 2nd Team:
The 2nd team also performed admirably against tough competition. In their pool matches, they won one game and lost two, placing them into a round robin for 21st place. They faced a challenging set of opponents in the later stages but continued to compete with determination and resilience, ultimately finishing 23rd overall, an improvement on their initial 25th seed.
Beyond results, their attitude was excellent throughout the tournament. They displayed great Spirit of the Game, engaging in constructive discussions about calls with both teammates and opponents. Their spirit circles were a highlight, reflecting respect, positivity, and sportsmanship.
It was fantastic to be part of such a vibrant and inspiring event, with the U14 competition running alongside the U17 and U20 divisions, creating a brilliant atmosphere for all involved. Both teams should be extremely proud - not only of their performances, but of the way they represented the school. Their effort, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm were exemplary, and they have set a strong foundation for future success. The students are already looking ahead with excitement to what they can achieve next academic year.
Well done to all players involved!
