East Devon Swim Gala

It was a fantastic day of racing at the East Devon Swim Gala, with swimmers delivering strong performances across all age groups.

Junior Boys put in an excellent team display. George B impressed with a 2nd place finish in the Individual Medley and a convincing 1st in Freestyle. Jasparan LK secured 1st in Breaststroke, while Spike H took 3rd in Backstroke and George G claimed 3rd in Butterfly. The team effort continued in the relays, with the boys finishing 2nd in both the Medley and Freestyle relays.

In the Junior Girls category, the team achieved an outstanding overall win. Alice A swam superbly to take 2nd in IM and 1st in Freestyle. Isabel J finished 2nd in Breaststroke and 1st in Butterfly, while Winnie added a 3rd place in Backstroke. The girls worked brilliantly together in the relays, finishing 2nd in the Medley and taking 1st in the Freestyle relay.

The Intermediate Boys dominated their events, securing 1st overall. Josh G led the charge with victories in both IM and Butterfly. Jacob A delivered a strong performance with 2nd in Breaststroke and 1st in Backstroke, while Thomas P placed 4th in Freestyle. The team capped off their success with 1st place finishes in both the Medley and Freestyle relays.

For the Intermediate Girls, there were notable individual performances. Ava placed 3rd in IM, 2nd in Breaststroke and 1st in Butterfly, while Ingrid finished 4th in both Freestyle and Backstroke. The relays saw the team finish 5th in the Medley and 4th in the Freestyle.

Overall, the results were very encouraging, with Junior Girls finishing 1st, Junior Boys 2nd, and Intermediate Boys 1st, meaning both the Junior and Intermediate teams placed 2nd overall.

A huge well done to all swimmers for their efforts, teamwork, and determination throughout the gala. A special thank you also goes to Ellie T and Sam M for stepping in on the day to compete and support the team.
