Harvey McIntosh, a Senior Human Factors Specialist for Babcock International, left Colyton Grammar School in 2015 after finding a love for Psychology during his time in Sixth Form. He then went on to graduate from the University of Bath in 2019 with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology.

He gave a talk to students about his career as an accomplished Human Error Quantifier, using his background in psychology to support his understanding of how people behave in different sociotechnical contexts. Through his work at Babcock, he uses these insights to change safety and efficiency behaviours and to support the company’s health and wellbeing strategy. On top of this, he talked about how he leads the company’s Human Factors training programme across the globe, so can often be found sharing his understanding of Psychology with people who have never come across the subject before.
