Having scored in the top 50 nationally in the Isaac Physics Senior Physics Challenge Daniel X (Year 12) has now completed the Summer School at the University of Cambridge. Here is a short paragraph he has written about his experience.:

Last week, I attended an Isaac Physics summer school at the University of Cambridge, along with fifty other students from across the UK. Throughout the week, we were based at the Cavendish Laboratory (the birthplace of many revolutionary discoveries, including the electron and neutron), at the newly opened Ray Dolby Centre. The week focused on learning quantum mechanics through problem solving, after introductory lectures on waves and the foundations of quantum, we dove into topics such as Heisenberg's uncertainty principle and solving the time-independent Schrodinger equation. I really enjoyed the new perspective of quantum mechanics, and learning from world-leading researchers in a challenging environment.
