SWAT Challenge Day

On Friday 11th February, Mrs Lea and Mrs Hitchcock took our South West Academic Trust (SWAT) ambassadors for a Challenge Day at Parkstone Grammar in Poole. The schools involved form the South West Academic Trust (hence SWAT), a partnership of leading grammar schools in the South West working alongside the University of Exeter. The SWAT ambassadors, a group of students from mixed years, will be working this year to develop a range of ‘Challenge’ opportunities, designed to foster innovation and lateral thinking. The group took part in a series of challenging tasks over the course of the day, including both virtual and real-life escape rooms, and listened to an inspirational talk by former captain of the England netball team, Pamela Cookey. The ambassadors did a brilliant job on the day and are looking forward to developing some of the challenges they worked through for all Colyton students in the coming months.
