News - Dec 9
During November, we were privileged to be able to hold another life drawing workshop, led by John Meaker from the Abbotsbury Studio in Dorset. All A Level Art students attended and spent the entire day drawing from the life model. We are currently holding a small exhibition of the work in the Art Centre, which shows a wonderfully vast variety of styles and approaches – from layering multiple representations of the moving model by using charcoal dust only, to a lengthy, singular pose, drawn during the afternoon, from elegant charcoal line to heavier oil sketches on hessian.
Thanks go out to those in the department who made this possible, to John Meaker for his inventive teaching approaches and the students for their incredible responsiveness and
adaptability (as ever).
