Inspiring Year 11 and 13

To help get Year 11 and Year 13 students inspired and motivated to prepare and revise for their oncoming summer exams we welcomed some Inspirational speakers here in the first week of term.

These included Old Colytonians Lydia Clatworthy (OC2008), now working in Environmental Law in Oman, and Kai-To (OC2012), now a Social Media Executive at Lotus.  We also welcomed Robert Lunt, a Graduate Metallurgist at Babcock International.

They described to students their journey so far, and the challenges they had to overcome to get to their current point in their career.  Some of the key messages were of planning, consistent working, and resilience, and we hope this will be useful to our Year 13 and Year 11 students as they begin their preparation for their summer exams.  All the speakers were a huge inspiration as to what can be achieved by approaching challenges in the right way, in a diverse range of fields.
