Year 10 students take part in first Ten Tors 2024 Dartmoor training session

Recently, four teams from Year 10 had a wet first training session on Dartmoor for Ten Tors 2024. There were tough navigation conditions to train in, with the cloud down for much of the day which was an ideal introduction to what the North Moor can be like.
The route took the teams up Yes Tor, High Willhays, Dinger, East Mill, Okement and Hangingstone Hill before returning through Oke Tor. There was also the opportunity to get familiar with using emergency shelters. All participants impressed with their willingness to learn navigation and resilience in quite cold and wet conditions.
Training now sees a halt until mid-January.
