Ten Tors training recently recommenced following the Christmas break, seeing hardy Year 10 and 12 students tackling some tough weather conditions on Dartmoor. The 35- and 45-mile teams did extremely well, given the high winds, icy ground, and the weight of carrying full kit for the first time.

The 13- and 16-mile routes provided a good opportunity to further test the students’ navigation skills and experience some true ‘Dartmoor’ weather. Sensibly, it was decided to call off the night’s camping given the worsening conditions.

Nevertheless, a positive experience for those involved. A huge thank you to all of the adult volunteers, Mr Finn and Miss Hunt for giving up their time and of course to Mrs Byron for her excellent planning and leadership.
