Last week, our Under 13 girls cricket team competed against Teign School in the semi-finals of the Hardball Devon Cup.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the game was reduced to just 12 overs per team. Bowling first, our Colyton team got off to a great start, with a first ball wicket. The girls continued in this good form throughout the innings with wickets from Katie G, Katie H, Arya B and Mattie H, and a stumping and run out from wicket keeper Mabel S. Colyton restricted Teign to just 35 runs.

Izzy W and Katie H opened the batting for Colyton and got off to a fantastic start, scoring 16 off the first over. We chased the score down in just five overs, with captain Izzy scoring the winning runs and retiring not out after a fantastic innings.

Player of the match went to Mabel S for her work behind the stumps. A fantastic effort from the Under 13 girls making it to the finals of the county cup in their first ever season of hardball cricket. Best of luck in the final, girls.
