With 120,000 students invited to take part, and over 3,000 video submissions made across the country, this year was the biggest year for the Poetry By Heart Competition which sees students learn a poem off by heart and perform it for others.
A huge well done to Year 8 students Isobel R and Enrique F-H, Year 9 student Elsie L, Year 10 student Tobias B and Hope R and Rosalia A-E, both Year 12 for their submissions to the classic competition and the high praise that you received from the judges.
Sasha B, Georgia B, Chloe H, Sophie P, Alice J and Joseph B all received highly commended from the judges for their entries into the freestyle competition, a testament to their creativity in performing their poems. Well done.
Finally, an exceptional well done to Year 10 student Eleanor S for achieving Best in County (Devon) for her fantastic performances of ‘My Last Duchess’ and ‘Cosy Apologia’.
Thank you to everyone who took part.
