Colyton recently hosted the East Devon Girls Tennis Tournament, with our girls delivering exceptional performances. All four players in our Under 13 squad advanced confidently through the group stages and into the quarter finals as the level of play was intense and closely matched.
Seed 1 Audrey and Seed 2 Imogen both demonstrated consistency and composure under pressure to win their respective quarter final and semi final matches, setting up an all Colyton showdown in the final. The game between Audrey and Imogen was a thrilling contest, filled with long rallies, strategic play, and impressive court coverage. In the end, Audrey edged out Imogen to become the East Devon Under 13 Champion.
The Under 15 Tournament was equally competitive, with a strong field of players pushing each other throughout the day. Once again, all four of our players made it through to the quarter finals, continuing the school’s strong showing. Three of those players progressed to the semi finals, including Ella and Rosie who faced off in a tightly contested match. After an intense battle, Rosie narrowly secured her place in the final.
In the final, Rosie met Poppy in what proved to be another high quality and closely fought match. Both players showed great resilience and tactical awareness, but it was Poppy who eventually prevailed to claim the title of East Devon Under 15 Champion.
Well done to everyone involved.
