Oscar P (Year 10) and George H (Year 9) have been competing in the 2025 English Schools’ Track and Field Championships in Birmingham. Reaching the National Finals is an incredible achievement, with both athletes progressing through multiple rounds to earn their place. Their outstanding commitment, resilience, and dedication to their sport has been inspiring, and we are incredibly proud of both of them.

Also, after completing his GCSEs last month, Sam S in Year 11 has been busy competing on the athletics circuit, recently representing Devon in the South West School’s Combined Events U17 Octathlon, delivering an outstanding performance. Sam finished 5th overall and achieved an incredible five personal bests in the High Jump, Hurdles, Discus, 400m and 1500m. He scored a total of 4,447 points, improving his previous personal best by 400 points.

As a result of his hard work and determination, particularly impressive after a year disrupted by injury, Sam has been selected to compete at the English Schools Championships in September, a fantastic achievement and we wish him the best of luck.

We also wish Year 13 student Temide A the best of luck as he has also qualified for the Nationals, competing in the High Jump.

Well done to all of you for winning a place at this elite event. We are proud of all of you.
