With this year being the 80th Anniversary of the end of World War II, Year 8 students participated in a World War II Study Day.

The day began with the entire year group in Cottrill Hall for an overview of the causes and main events of the conflict, as well as developing an understanding of why it matters and its enduring impact. Each form group then took part in a five-way rotation of workshops that explored the themes of Bletchley Park and Coding; Music and Productivity; The Blitz and War Poetry; Cartography and The Global Reach; and The Development of the Atom Bomb. Each workshop was led by both a subject specialist teacher and a History teacher working together and providing a great opportunity to show students the cross over between subjects.

As ever the students were really engaged in what proved to be an excellent and thought provoking day.
