On 27th June 2018, year 10 student Lachlan R attended the ‘Young Scientist/Engineer of the Year Competition’ in Bristol, where he presented his design for a space mission to one of Jupiter’s moons, Europa, and conducted an investigation into the optimum hull shape for a submarine to explore Europa’s subsurface ocean.
Competing against students from all around the South West, the judges who thought he was “working well beyond his peers” were “astounded at [his] entry and had no hesitation in submitting [his] entry for the National Big Bang Competition which will be held in Birmingham next year.
